Shirley Foods, Inc. is a family owned, third generation business nestled in the sleepy town of Shirley,
Indiana.  Orginally based in Dayton, Ohio, Shirley Foods humble beginnings sprang from founder Frank
Toth's desire to provide authentic Mexican-style foods in his restaurants.  The lack of products availability
of tortillas led the entrepreneur to learn how to make tortillas himself.  The operation grew as
Mexican-style foods grew in popularity.  Shirley Foods became a full fledged company in 1965.
Ohio's natural gas shortage ten years later spurred the company's move to Shirley, Indiana, where there
was an abundance of natural gas.  Shirley Foods is still run by family members, with Frank Toth's son
Gary as president and day to day operations run by grandchildren Brian Toth and Susan Cagley.
