Shirley Foods' tortillas are as close as you can get to an authentic Mexican tortilla without
going to Mexico!  Our process of hand stretched flour tortillas is unique to the industry.  
Hydraulic presses used by our competitors sacrifice quality and taste for the ease and
speed of mass production.  We take the authentic way of making tortillas to a more practical,
automated level, keeping as much of the original concept and flavor of the original concept
and flavor of tortilla-making in the Mexican tradition as possible.

The secret to the quality of Shirley Foods tortillas is that we use only the finest ingredients,
and hand stretched flour tortillas for better texture, mouth-feel, and flavor.  We do not use
preservatives or other additives that alter the flavor or texture of the tortillas, a taste that
cannot be appreciated until you actually compare the taste and feel of a Shirley Foods tortilla
to competing brands.

Shirley Foods uses the finest corn for its corn tortillas.  By grinding our own corn, we have
control over the consistency of our corn tortillas.  Chips and nachos are made of grains that
are finely ground to produce firmer, tastier snack foods.  With strict adherence to quality
control procedures, Shirley Foods maintains the desired consistency and flavor of authentic
Mexican food.  Our process reduces oil absorption in the frying stage.  After cooking to
perfection, Shirley Foods tortillas are quickly frozen to capture the natural taste of freshly
made tortillas.
